The Vic - A Love Story

A couple of weeks ago, saw the launch of "The Vic: A Love Story."- A short film that charts the fascinating history of the Victoria Theatre in Devonport, Auckland.

As the oldest purpose-built cinema in the Southern Hemisphere the Vic has a great story to tell.

From its beginnings in 1912 when it was a ‘picture palace’ showing silent films, to the advent of the ‘talkie’ movies and then the digital age, the Vic encompasses the history of cinema in New Zealand cinema.

The Sugarworks Post is proud to have played a part in getting this story to the big screen.
